PITE (Pilis Nature Conservation Organization) is a non-governmental organization of great importance. It was established in2003 in association with the Pilis Group of the Hungarian Bird and Nature Conservation Organization. Its aim to allocate additional financial resources for solving actual nature conservation tasks. After a short period of time become evident that PITE has more success and it is more effective than the Pilis Group in fields of professional work and tendering. This can be explained by its legal status which leads to equal partnership for EU and Hungarian authorities.

Our organization aims to solve the natural conservation’s challenges in its fields of activity: Pilis, Visegrád-hills, Szentendre Island and Táti Island. Bird protection plays an important role in activities. We monitor the life of highly protected bird species, changes in their life territory (because of human activities) and in order to maintain their constant conservation we build up close partnerships with conservationist authorities.
We concentrate more on regional and local problems and not on country wide tasks. We can not save the world but if we can work with a good mood and in a good company, it has been worth establishing this NGO. We carry out such taskswhich no one else would implement.
